Tips for Cap and Gown Sessions

• Our 15 minutes together will fly by - so the more prepared you are ahead of time, the smoother your session will go!

• Arrive to your session fully ready to go - outfit on, hair and makeup how you like. Have your cap ON when you arrive, we will do those photos first.

• Bring your cap and gown, stoles, cords, medals or anything meaningful to you.

• If needed, steam or iron your gown before your session.

• Plan a hairstyle that works with your cap.

• Your cap and tassel should be already assembled when you arrive.

• Use Bobby pins if needed. *PRACTICE wearing your cap at home before your session*.

• Your hands will be featured in some of the photos - I like to give advanced notice on this!

Outfit options

• Solid, neutral colors work best under your gown, avoid busy patterns or logos.

• Jeans and a t-shirt with the name of the college you will be attending also look great.

• If you want to change, I will have a changing tent with me so you can do a more formal outfit and a casual outfit.
